The Orphaned Task: Handoffs, Timeouts, and Cancellation in Multi-Agent Systems
Work that passes between agents can fail in ways a single agent cannot: a delegated task runs twice, or a payment lands after its parent stopped listening. This paper finds two such failures in the protocol text and bounds them with controls that are older than agents, credited where the body uses them.
